I purchased this steam cleaner in order to be able to steam areas in my home to kill any possible bedbug eggs…since we suspected we had the beginnings of a mild infestation. (On a side note, a nationally-known exterminating company is known to use steam ONLY to treat any home infestations of bedbugs. I knew I could do this application myself so why spend 0 for them to do it??)
The instructions are simple, the machine is compact and easy to use. The cord is sufficient in length to stretch throughout a couple of side by side bedrooms, or across the large living room/dining room. The hose is also a nice length to use without having to pull the canister along every few feet.
The handle holder pictured on top of the machine is slightly cumbersome but does the job of holding the handle/hose off the floor when not in use. It clicks into the top of the canister but comes out easy enough to store. One thing I think I would appreciate is if it clicked in and stayed sturdy enough for it to became a handle for lifting the canister rather than just a holder for the hose handle. It becomes just another piece to have to store if you put it back in the box after every use.
The heat time is about 10 minutes for a full canister of water..not a problem at all. One thing to note, if you are steaming away and have to stop for a few short minutes for whatever reason….when you start up again, the water in the hose/handle has cooled and will come out as water, not steam. Good idea to hold the steam tip in the water cup or over your towel your wiping up with to catch the stream of water that will come out for the first second or two.
I have not used but one attachment, the small hard bristle brush…so can’t review its effectiveness when using the larger attachments. Since the steam is concentrated into a very small area coming out of the tip of the handle, it’s hard to imagine the larger attachments being very effective…but we’ll see.
Overall, I’m happy with this machine so far, for the price.
